Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT)

It is a tribunal which resolves disputes between tenants, landlords, traders and consumers.

Mediation

Is a confidential conference where all the participants of a dispute cooperate to resolve the dispute. The mediator is an impartial third person who does not impose a solution on the parties.

Outgoings

It is usually referred to in a commercial lease and it means paying for this such as council rates, cleaning, water rates, land tax, strata or other levies, security, management fees etc.

Rent

The amount payed for the premises or goods.

 

Rental Bond

Is the amount of money to be paid by a tenant as a form of security for the landlord in case the tenant does not follow the terms of the lease agreement.

 

Retail Lease Bond Scheme

This is a bond scheme whereby any cash bond agreed as security for a new lease will need to be lodged with the scheme, within 20 business days after the bond is payed. The money will be held and invested by a funds manager appointed by the NSW government. The NSW government will have to ensure that the money is available at the end of the lease.
